The Bristol Standard Quality Improvement Framework

Holy Apostles’ Pre-school attains Bristol Standard

Holy Apostles’ Pre-school Cheltenham was delighted to attain the prestigious Bristol Standard recently for the third time; each cycle lasts three years. The Bristol Standard is a rigorous process of self-evaluation to improve the quality and effectiveness of provision through an annual cycle of reflection. We have been engaged with the process since 2006 and are able to demonstrate the huge progress that we have made over this time through our detailed folders.

The Bristol Standard helps the setting work through ten separate dimensions for continuous quality improvement. Mrs Brooker sought the views of parents and carers through questionnaires and our interactive learning diaries; she ensured the children’s voice was heard through their key person. The children were at the heart of every improvement and the team constantly reflected on how the changes impacted the children’s education.

The staff are very proud of their achievement which shows in the way they care for the children in the setting. They are more confident in their knowledge and delivery of the EYFS and they have a deeper understanding of the characteristics of effective learning and how to ensure each child is the best they can be!
