16 Jun Holy Apostles’ Preschool celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
Holy Apostles’ pre-schoolers celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a variety of fun activities.
We started our celebration week with a carpet time session when we learnt about the Queen and how long she has been on the throne. We learnt a Jubilee song called the “Queen in the Castle” which we sang to the tune on “Wheels on the Bus”! Then it was time to start our first activity.
Our fun activities for nursery children for the Jubilee included:
Planting out our Jubilee Flowers
The children had a selection of red, white and blue flowers which we decided to plant in rows in our raised flower beds. The pre-schoolers carefully planted the flowers and then watered them in. They are now growing beautifully providing a cheerful display in our play area.

Making Bunting and Flags
We decorated our playroom with red, white and blue balloons and made bunting to hang in the windows.
We also made flags which we had great fun finger painting carefully dipping our fingers in red and blue paint to paint the correct sections of the flag.

Making our crowns
Making things is one of the fun activities for nursery children that’s loved best at Holy Apostles Preschool! The Holy Apostles Pre-schoolers decided that they needed a crown to join in with Jubilee celebrations. The children decorated their cardboard crowns with jewels and sparkly stars.

Jubilee Picnic Time 2022!
We finished off our week of preparations with a Jubilee picnic lunch on the school field. We all had a really great time learning about an historic event that we were able to be part of!

Well done to all our Pre-schoolers!
