Writing to Santa
The children at playgroup started thinking about our Christmas wish list and what we hoped that Santa would bring us.
The children at playgroup made marks on our letters to represent our name, age and the present we hope to receive. We had to think about whether we had been good during the year so that Santa would have our name on his list!
We folded our letters so that we could fit them in the envelope and talked about why the envelope needed a stamp. The children peeled the stamp from the booklet and stuck it in the corner together with a typed address label to Santa in Reindeerland.
Then it was time to put on our hats and coats and walk to the post-box, which is at the bottom of our pre-school road! We walked in twos and when we reached the post box we waited excitedly for our turn to stretch up to post our letters.
We are really hoping that Santa will reply to us and then we will share our letters at playgroup.
Update: We received our first reply from Santa this weekend!
3rd December 2016 – Sam was very excited to receive a reply from Santa today – Santa even sent a star for Sam to hang in his window so that Santa could find his house!
