As part of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) 2014, all children will have a key person assigned to them, which allows your child to build a familiar and trusting relationship with a member of pre-school staff who will support and help them to develop throughout their time at pre-school. Where possible, we also try to assign the same key person to any future siblings who attend the pre-school.
All staff are appointed by the management committee and will have completed or are undertaking the relevant recognised statutory training courses as laid down by the 2006 Children’s Act. All staff have training in Paediatric First Aid.
Hello I’m Chris Brooker, the Pre-school Leader; I am mum to two grown-up boys and retain a keen interest in Holy Apostles’ Primary School, where they both attended, as Chair of Governors. I have been involved with the pre-school since it opened in 1994!
I am passionate about Early Years and the importance of providing a strong foundation for all our children and to understand what motivates them to learn. I love to watch children grow in confidence from the shy new starter to the confident child willing to try new experiences and support others to do the same! In my spare time I enjoy the theatre, live music, and good food!
My name is Linda Turner and I am the Pre-school Deputy Leader. I am a mum and nanny to two boys! I enjoy being part of children’s development and having fun! Outside pre-school I like to spend time with my grandchildren, visit my family in Cheshire and I love to bake!
Hi, I am Kaye Smith and I am the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, (SENCo) of the group. I am a mum and grandma of three. I love working at pre-school because every day the children make me smile! I love to spend time outside swimming at the lido, walking on Crickley Hill and my favourite place is Croyde Bay.
I am a pre-school teacher at Holy Apostles’ Pre-school. Following a career change from Human Resources Management, every day spent at Holy Apostles’ has been rewarding. I am a parent of two children myself, both of whom thrived at Holy Apostles’ Pre-school. In this job, it is an absolute privilege to share and nurture children’s learning
I am a mum to four children, I like spending time with them and my husband. I love nature and being outdoors and my favourite place is The New Forest. My children attended Holy Apostles’ Pre-school and really enjoyed it and this inspired me to start training in Early Years development. I really enjoy working with children and it’s a pleasure to watch them grow and develop. I have recently gained my QCF L3 qualification.
Hi my name is Val Allanach and I am a mother of two (both of whom attended Holy Apostles’ Pre-school). Working at pre-school is hugely rewarding and I love working with the children and seeing them grow and develop as individuals. Outside of work I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.
Hi, my name is Vicky and I am a mum of two girls. They both attended, and loved, Holy Apostles’ Pre-school which is one of the reasons I am so pleased to be part of the team. I have worked with children for 20 years and feel very lucky to be working at HA Pre-school.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family, reading, running and shopping!
Hi, my name is Rie and I am a mother of two boys. I love working with children and I was a nursery school teacher in Japan before I moved to Cheltenham in 2006.
